Federal Government has Commenced the distribution of Food and Nutritional items to twenty thousand households in Sokoto State.

In a symbolic presentation of the items, Minister of State, Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Alh. Yusuf Danko Sununu said the move was aimed at assisting the vulnerable communities who were affected by humanitarian crises in Sokoto State.

Alh. Yusuf Danko Sununu said the intervention also included the distribution of nutritional items to hospital, children care centres and vulnerable groups in the state.

He explained that the intervention aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Renewed Hope Agenda aimed at cushioning the effects of Humanitarian crises in the Country.

Radio Nigeria in Sokoto report that the food items included a bag of rice, millet, beans, bag of maize and cooking oil as well as fifty thousand naira cash backing to each beneficiary in the state.

Responding, Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State commended the FG for the intervention stressing that the initiative will go a long way to reducing the plight of people in the state and assured his administration commitments in completing the Federal Government effort in the state.
