A female aspirant for Awe, Doma and Keana constituency, Mahasin Usman Attah, has distributed food items worth millions of naira to vulnerable in Agbashi community of Doma local government area of, nasarawa state.

 

The APC female aspirant while speaking at the distribution ceremony said, the gesture was aimed at alleviating the suffering being experience by the people and to put smiles on the faces of needy.

 

She promised to extend the gesture to other vulnerable groups in all the communities of the constituency to further connect with them and understand their challenges better in other to properly address them.

 

Mahasin Usman Attah maintained that, the challenges faced by women in politics, particularly in a male-dominated environment, noted that no woman has ever won an election in the area, making her determination to succeed even stronger to prove that women have a lot to contribute towards making the country better and more secure.

 

She promised to bring genuine development to includes road from Doma to Agbashi, which is critical to the development of the entire area, prioritize girl-child education and empowerment programmes for women and youths as well as the elderly.

 

According to her, she will focus on sponsoring bills and motions that would ensure peace, employment opportunities for the youths, and attract investment to the people to complement the efforts of the state and federal governments.

 

The female aspirant also had a consultation meetings with different groups to inform them of her intentions to contest for the House of Representatives in the area and wanted their blessings as her kinsmen and parents.

 

Mahasin Usman Attah earlier visited the palace of Utushoho of Agbashi Mr. Moses Adigashi Alade and District Head of Agbashi Alhaji Adamu Ogah, for consultations and royal blessings.

 

Some of the beneficiaries, said the gesture brought relief and hope, that indeed their sister and daughter are a beacon of hope and would represent the constituency well if given their mandate.

 

They appealed to other politicians and wealthy individuals to emulate Mahasin Usman Attah in extending a helping hand to the needy, especially the vulnerable.

 

Some of the food items donated, included rice, semolina, beans, sachets of tomatoes, noodles, salt, and seasoning cubes, among others, targeted at widows, orphans, and the elderly in the community.
