The Speaker Niger State House of Assembly, Barrister Abdulmalik Sarkin-daji, has applauded the Nigerian Army for taking the lead in a successful security operation that resulted in the rescue of about 70 kidnapped victims in parts of the state.
He stated this in a statement signed and issued to Newsmen, by the Acting Head Of Department, Media Public Relations Directorates, Mairo Adamu Mani in Minna.
Abdulmalik Sarkin-daji also commended the Department of State Services (DSS) and other security agencies for their strong collaboration and support, which he said had contributed to the success of the operation carried out in Mariga Local Government Area and other parts of the Niger North Senatorial District.
He described the operation as a major relief to affected communities, stressing that the bravery and professionalism of the Nigerian Army and other security agencies led to the neutralization of several bandits, the arrest of suspected criminals, and the safe rescue of many innocent citizens who had been held captive.
According to him, the rescue of about 70 kidnapped victims clearly demonstrates the renewed commitment of the Nigerian Army and security agencies to ending banditry and other criminal activities in the state.
Abdulmalik Sarkin-daji added that the success of the operation has restored hope and confidence among residents, especially those in rural and vulnerable areas who have suffered repeated attacks and abductions and reassured the Nigerian Army and other security agencies of the continued support and cooperation of the Niger State Government.
