All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State says it has recorded a massive turnout in the ongoing electronic membership registration and revalidation exercise in the state.
The APC Publicity Secretary in the state, Yusuf Idris Gusau, disclosed this while briefing journalists at the party secretariat in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital.
Yusuf Gusau said the e-registration exercise, which commenced nationwide on January 1, 2026, has been successful in Zamfara State, attributed the achievement to effective coordination and widespread participation by party members.
According to him, the state party inaugurated committees to oversee the exercise, with himself serving as the state coordinator, supported by three senatorial coordinators, 14 local government supervisors, and 294 ward agents, to ensure that all eligible members were captured.
“From our on-the-spot assessment and reports received from registration teams across the state, the exercise has been wonderfully successful,” he said.
“We are particularly appreciative of all our leaders, more especially former governors, His Excellency Senator Ahmad Rufai Sani, His Excellency, Mahmud Aliyu Shinkafi, His Excellency, Senator Abdul’aziz Yari Abubakar and His Excellency Bello Mohammed Matawalle, the Honourable Minister of State for Defence for their full participation in the exercise and the environment they give to all members, old and new to register which in turn boosted the exercise and made it highly successful”
He also acknowledged the contributions of serving and former senators, members of the House of Representatives, and other party stakeholders, whose participation, he said, boosted confidence among party members.
Gusau further praised the leadership of the state party chairman, Tukur Umar Danfulani, former state chairman Hon. M. Liman Kaura, and the state secretary, Ibrahim Umar Dangaladima, for their supervisory roles and support throughout the exercise.
While Providing statistics, he revealed that 30,203 members were registered within the first three days of the exercise across the state.
A breakdown of the figures showed that Zamfara West recorded 11,651 registrations, Zamfara Central 10,595, and Zamfara North 7,957.
He cautioned against misrepresentation of the figures and dismissed claims that some members were excluded from the exercise and described such allegations as unfounded.
“No official complaint has been submitted to the committee or the party secretariat regarding exclusion.
“On a lighter note however, we have heard of speculations that some people are complaining that they are being excluded and disenfranchised in the exercise, I wish to state that such complain has not been officially reported to us as a committee nor had it been reported to the state Secretariat of the party for us to act upon”
Yusuf Idris Gusau however assured the party members that no one will be left out in the ongoing exercise and
urged party members with genuine concerns to report through appropriate party channels and warned against attempts by detractors to undermine the process.
He expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the exercise by party officials at all levels and called on them to remain vigilant against actions capable of threatening party unity.
The APC spokesperson expressed optimism that the successful registration exercise would further strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“It is also critical to note that the APC in Zamfara State has always remained one under our recognised leaders, and any breakaway or failure to come through the constitutionally recognised channel will amount to and be regarded as disrespect and disloyalty and will have no place at all levels of the party right from the wards to the national level’
