President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on Nigerians to embrace peace, religious tolerance and unity as Christians celebrate Christmas, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to protecting religious freedom and national security.

In his 2025 Christmas goodwill message issued on December 25, the President said the season provides an opportunity to reflect on the birth of Jesus Christ and His message of love, hope and peace.

He extended Christmas greetings to Christians in Nigeria and across the world, while urging harmony and peaceful coexistence among people of different faiths.

Tinubu emphasized that no Nigerian should suffer persecution because of their religious beliefs, stressing that all citizens have the right to live, worship, and pursue their aspirations in safety and dignity.

He noted that the values of love for God and humanity are shared across faiths and should continue to unite the country.

The President commended Christians in Nigeria for their contributions to national development, particularly their roles in caring for the vulnerable and promoting peace and tolerance in their communities.

He said the message of the Gospel has inspired many to bring hope in times of difficulty.

Reflecting on his time in office since 2023, Tinubu reiterated his administration’s commitment to the security, unity, and stability of Nigeria, under God and the Constitution.

He also disclosed ongoing engagements with leaders of the country’s major religions to address concerns over insecurity and religious intolerance, promising to strengthen collaboration to prevent conflict and promote peaceful coexistence.

As Nigerians travel during the festive period, the President advised motorists to exercise patience and discipline on the roads, wishing travelers safe journeys and returns.

Tinubu concluded by expressing confidence in divine guidance and the collective strength of Nigerians to build a greater nation, wishing citizens a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year in advance.
