Jigawa State Rehabilitation Board says it will renovate the Birnin Kudu and Gumel Zonal Rehabilitation Centres in 2026.

The Executive Secretary of the Board, Malam Sale Zakar Kafin Hausa, disclosed this while defending the 2026 budget proposal before the House of Assembly Committee on Women Affairs.

Malam Sale explained that the Birniwa Rehabilitation Centre is in good condition and adequately provided with food, clothing, and toiletries to cater to the elderly and the less privileged.

He added that this has encouraged the state government’s decision to renovate the two centres for improved service delivery.

Malam Sale Zakar explained that the number of women benefitting from the Pregnant and Maternal Mother Programme is increased from 20 to 30 across the 287 political wards in the state.

He said that the number of people special needs benefitting from the social security programme is also increased from 150 to 200 par each local government while 540 people receive 10, 000 Naira monthly.

In his remark, the Chairman of the House of Assembly Committee on Women Affairs who is the member representing Birnin Kudu Constituency, Alhaji Muhammad Kabiru Ibrahim who expressed appreciation over the provisions made for women women, children, old people, pregnant women, lactating mothers and people with special needs.

He prayed for the budget to impact positively on the lives of the weak and the under privileged across the state.
