Coalition of Federal Pensioners has suspended its planned naked protest by retirees over the delayed payment of their benefits.

Coordinator of the Coalition and Lagos State Chairman of NIPOST Association, Comrade Munkaila Ogunbote disclosed this at a strategy meeting held today.

Comrade Munkaila Ogunbote explained that the suspension followed appeal by the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate-PTAD, which promised to pay two or three months arrears this month, while the balance will be settled next month.

The Coordinator however, warned that failure to pay as promised would continue with the protest on the eighth of next month to the demand for right of the senior citizens.

A member of the Coalition, Dupe Akindele as dismayed over uncooperative attitude of the National Union of Pensioners towards effort of the Coalition to fight for such rights saying the protest has no political undertone.
