Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving road infrastructure across the state with the launch of another major regional road project under the “Gwamnati da Jama’a” (Citizen Engagement) programme.

Flagging off the Mallam Madori–Gari Uku–Kanya Babba–Malorin Kasim–Abori–Sumburtu–Diginsa Road project, Governor Namadi said it is one of six regional road projects totaling 179 kilometres and valued at more than ₦81 billion.

Namadi, in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Hamisu Mohammed Gumel, in Dutse, said the 34.5-kilometre road in Mallam Madori Local Government Area was awarded at ₦18.5 billion to Cosgrove Investment Limited.

According to him, the project will link seven hard-to-reach farming communities, easing transportation of produce to markets and improving economic activities.

He revealed that 35 percent of the construction has already been completed and expressed confidence it will be delivered within one year, ahead of schedule.

The Governor said the initiative aligns with his 12-Point Agenda, which focuses on infrastructure, education, health, agriculture, and job creation.

Governor Namadi also acknowledged the support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in advancing development priorities that directly benefit citizens.

During the visit, he commissioned a newly built mosque in Garin Gabas and received a compendium of community needs from local leaders as part of the state’s open-door approach to governance.
