Jigawa State Government has urged the management of Rasheed Shekoni Federal University Dutse Teaching Hospital to give priority to state indigenes in employment opportunities.

Governor Umar Namadi made the call while receiving the Chief Medical Director, Dr. Salisu Mu’azu Babura, and the hospital’s management team during a courtesy visit to his office in Dutse.

Malam Umar Namadi explained that the state have a number of professionals and experts to fill vacancies in the health sector.

He pledged to continue supporting the facility to succeed in rendering health care services to people of the state.

Namadi further explained that, the state government will provide additional land for expansion purpose and assist in renovation of dilapidated structures in the hospital.

Earlier, The Chief Medical Director of Rasheed Shekoni Teaching Hospital, Dr Salisu Mu’azu Babura said the visit was for formal introduction and to solicit for the Governor’s continued support.

Dr Salisu Babura pointed out that a total of 870 staff has been enrolled in the federal government payroll.

According to the CMD, more than 250 are indigenes of Jigawa state.

He, therefore, commended the state government for it’s support and called for intervention in addressing current challenges facing the hospital.
