People’s Democratic Party PDP has swept all 16 local government council seats in Taraba State.

The elections were conducted on Saturday by the State Independent Electoral Commission SIEC, with internal and external observers, including journalists, monitoring the process.

Our Correspondent reports that the poll was peaceful, and all results were declared at the respective local government council secretariats.

Speaking to Radio Nigeria after the announcement, the newly elected Chairmen of Gassol and Ardo-Kola L Government Councils, Mr. Habila Bala Balasa and Umar Bello Badawere, pledged to prioritise security, healthcare, and women and youth empowerment in line with Governor Agbu Kefas’ Moving Forward Agenda.

They appreciated the electorates and stakeholders in their various local government areas for the confidence reposed in them, assuring that they would not disappoint and urged them to pray for their success.

Mr Habila Balasa and Umar Badawere also urged their people to support them with prayers and remain patient as a lot of developmental programs will come to them.

Meanwhile, the newly elected local government council’s chairmen are expected to be sworn in by Governor Agbu Kefas next week.
