Jigawa State Executive Council has approved a loan facility to the State Housing Authority for the construction of 52 housing units in Dutse.

In a statement to newsmen by the State Commissioner for Information, Alhaji Sagir Musa Ahmed explained that, the houses comprising 3 bedroom and 2 bedroom Flats.

According to him, the project is to be executed at the frontage of the old legislative quarters, adjacent to the Federal University Dutse by-pass, as part of a revolving fund initiative under the ministry of lands, housing, urban development and regional planning through the state housing authority.

He said, this initiative reflects the administration’s commitment to addressing housing needs within the state capital, promoting urban development, and creating employment opportunities for the teeming youth of the state.

Sagir Musa Ahmed said, the revolving nature of the fund is designed to ensure sustainability, enabling continuous investment in affordable housing projects across the state.

He added that, the state government remains resolute in its mission
to improve the living standards of its citizens through people oriented projects that promote social welfare, stimulate economic growth, and support youth empowerment.

He pointed out that, the council has also approved the award of contract for the renovation and upgrading of two official Guest Houses (Malam Adamu Chiroma House and Senator Francis Ella House) located within the G9 Quarters, Dutse at the sum of over 219.7 Million naira.

He said, the approved scope of work includes comprehensive renovation and upgrading of the structures, water reticulation, and installation of surface water storage tanks for each of the two houses.

He said this is to ensure adequate and sustainable water supply within the residences.

The Commissioner said, the contract was approved in line with the state government’s commitment to maintaining and upgrading public assets to standard and ensuring conducive accommodation owned by the state government.
