The Managing Director National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission N-HYPPADEC Abubakar Sadik Yelwa has expressed happiness that the mandate of the Commission has fully align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Renewed Hope Agenda that emphasizes on empowerment, agricultural productivity and community resilience.
He stated this at the flag off ceremony for the distribution of 13HP Hand- Driven Power Tillers, Relief Materials and Life Jackets to the beneficiaries held at the Commissions headquarters in Minna, Niger state.
Alh Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa, explained that the Commission had distributed 850 units of 13HP power tillers, out of which 165 units are for Niger state, 4000 life jackets and wide range of relief materials to Niger lites, which includes cash donation of 10 million naira, 500 bags of NPK fertilizer, 50 cartons of pesticides and 100 cartons of herbicides for distribution to flood affected communities.
The Managing Director N-HYPPADEC also said of recent the Commission had awarded contract for the supply of planters and knapsack sprayers for distribution to affected communities of member states, and commended some state Governors, traditional rulers, Niger State House of Assembly and other critical stakeholders too numerous to mention for their contribution to the success of his re appointment and promised to do more to achieve maximum results
In his remarks Niger state Governor, Mohammed Umar Bago who promised to donate 160 pumps to further support farmers in the state, appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the re appointment of Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa as Managing Director N-HYPPADEC for another four year term, and assured him of his administrations preparedness to accord him all the necessary support needed to succeed.
Also speaking the Etsu Nupe and Chairman Niger state Council of Traditional Rulers, Alh Yahaya Abubakar, who assured of the commitment and support of tradition rulers in achieving food security, also thanked the Managing Director N-HYPPADEC for distinguishing himself in the first four years tenure of his stewardship and congratulated him for his re appointment.
