Borno state government has taken delivery of 75,510 doses of the covid19 AstraZeneca vaccine. 

Recieving the consignment at the Maiduguri International Airport, Borno State Deputy Governor Alhaji Umar Kadafur told newsmen that the vaccine would soon be unveiled in the state. 

He explained that plans had been concluded on framework for the distribution of the vaccine to local government areas which would be announced in due course. 

Already,  Borno State government and UNICEF have trained frontline vaccinators who will actively participate in the exercise. 

The Deputy Governor was accompanied to the Airport by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, who is also the overseeing Commissioner Ministry of Health, Professor Isa Marte, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health, Dr Mohammed Ghuluze, other health officials from the Primary Healthcare Agency and Development Partners.
