The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to protecting critical national assets and infrastructure in line with its core mandate.

Kaduna State Commandant of the Corps, Panam Musa, gave the assurance while parading three suspected vandals before newsmen at the Command’s headquarters in Kaduna.

Commandant Musa noted that vandalism of essential infrastructure not only causes huge economic losses but also disrupts vital services that impact millions of lives.

According to him, the arrest followed a series of intelligence-led operations conducted by personnel across various parts of the state.

The suspects were apprehended while attempting to dispose of vandalized electrical generator parts belonging to Kauru General Hospital in Pambegua,” he said.

Similarly, the Command’s special response team intercepted another group of vandals targeting a telecommunications mast intended for the rural telephony programme at the Kaduna Switching Centre.

The Commandant condemned the criminal acts, describing them as deliberate sabotage against national development and the well-being of citizens.

The Corps will continue to pursue and bring to justice all individuals or groups involved in such unpatriotic activities,” he assured.

Musa further disclosed that the suspects are currently undergoing thorough investigation and would be charged to court upon completion of the process.

He urged members of the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by providing timely information on suspicious activities around public installations.

Items recovered from the suspects include a generator casing and a bunch of damaged copper wires.
