President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has welcomed over 66,000 defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), and African Democratic Congress (ADC) into the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State.
Speaking at the event held at the Mini Stadium in Dutse, President Tinubu assured the new members that they would be treated with fairness and given equal opportunities within the party.
He stated that the Renewed Hope Agenda of his administration is already yielding results, particularly in efforts to revive the nation’s economy.
The President commended Governor Umar Namadi for his exemplary leadership, which he said has attracted a large number of defectors to the ruling party through good governance and people-oriented policies.

Represented by the former APC National Chairman and Yobe State Governor, Alhaji Mai Mala Buni, President Tinubu reiterated his administration’s commitment to improving national security and promoting infrastructural and economic development across the country.
In his remarks, the National Chairman of the APC, Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda welcomed the defectors and urged them to be loyal to the APC.
According to him, the mass defection is an indication that people have confidence in APC’s administration at the state and national al level.
He expressed optimism that Jigawa is satisfied with the infrastructural and human development of the administration.
Earlier, the Chief host and the Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, pointed out that the defectors were from the People’s Democratic Party PDP, New Nigeria People’s Party NNPP and African Democratic Congress ADC.
He therefore,reiterated his administration’s commitment to promote unity amongst party members.
Namadi commended President Bola Tinubu for his exemplary leadership and dedication to national development.
Radio Nigeria reports that, President Tinubu said, the federal government has directed the continuation of Kano-Maiduguri road project for the economic wellbeing of the affected communities.
Leaders of the Decampees include member representing Gwaram federal constituency, Alhaji Yusuf Shitu Galambi, member representing Fagam constituency in the state house of assembly, Alhaji Yahaya Zakari Kwarko and Alhaji Aminu Jahun among others.
