The Commandant General of the Civilian Joint Task Force, Professor Kailani Mohammed, has reaffirmed the group’s commitment to supporting security agencies in maintaining law and order across the country.
Speaking at the official opening of the Kaduna State Command Office of the CJTF along Nnamdi Azikiwe Bypass, Professor Kailani emphasized that collaboration with security agencies remains key to sustaining peace and unity.

He explained that the CJTF has, for more than twelve years, been complementing the efforts of the police, the military, and other security outfits in combating banditry and other crimes.
Professor Kailani recalled that the CJTF in Kaduna was formed in 2013 following consultations with the then Commissioner of Police, the General Officer Commanding, and the Director of the Department of State Services to tackle rising cases of armed banditry and insurgency in Rigasa and other parts of the state.
He noted that despite the limited number of conventional security personnel in Nigeria, the CJTF has continued to fill critical security gaps through community participation and intelligence sharing.
The Commandant General maintained that all the activities of the CJTF are aimed at supporting the police and other security agencies with sincerity of purpose, stressing the need for mutual respect and cooperation to achieve the collective objective of peace and security.
In a remark the Secretary-General of the Military Veterans Federation of Nigeria, Dr. Auwal Aliyu Abdullahi, who is also the Deputy Commandant General of the CJTF in charge of Inter-Governmental Affairs and Strategies, urged members to provide timely and credible intelligence to aid the police in maintaining law and order.
He reminded members that as community volunteers, they must operate within the confines of the law and in full cooperation with the security agencies.
CJTF members in Kaduna expressed joy over the commissioning of their new state office, describing it as a milestone that will strengthen coordination and improve their operational efficiency.
The new Kaduna office of the Civilian Joint Task Force is expected to serve as the operational hub for the group’s activities across the state.
