The Jigawa State Manpower Development Institute has organized a one-day capacity-building workshop for library officers as part of its mandate to enhance the standards and competencies of manpower in both the public and private sectors.

In his opening remarks, the Director-General of the Institute, Umar Farouk Wada, said the workshop aimed to improve the skills and knowledge of librarians for effective service delivery in line with the Institute’s mandate.

He further explained that, it will be a continued exercise as the Institute has previously organized workshops to categories of workers both private and public sectors.

Umar Farouk described the library as a safe place for storage and acquisition of vital information for the general consumption of users.

Shortly after the opening remarks, series of papers were presented to the participants from various resources persons within the institute.
