The maiden Kebbi Economic Development Summit is currently underway at the Presidential Banquet Hall, Birnin Kebbi, the state capital.
Organized by the Kebbi Elders Consultative Forum in collaboration with the Kebbi State Government, the event serves as a strategic platform bringing together government leaders, business executives, investors, entrepreneurs, and development partners to chart a sustainable path for the state’s economic growth.
Declaring the two-day summit open, Governor Nasir Idris said the gathering aims to strengthen Kebbi State’s economic resilience, create new job opportunities, and ensure the sustainable management of its resources for present and future generations.
Governor Idris added that the summit will feature high-level discussions, strategic workshops, and expert presentations focused on transforming key sectors of the state’s economy.
He added that, the summit will also focus on agriculture, mining, the new economy, human capital, and the informal sector and to address the multifaceted challenges and opportunities that Kebbi State faces, to drive socio-economic development while leveraging the state’s natural and human resources.
Earlier, in his welcome address, the Chairman of occasion and Chairmen Kebbi Elders Consultative Forum, Major General Mohammed Magoro retired, said the summit will promote Sustainable Economic Growth and Innovation as well as Economic Transformation and investment.
According to him, at the end of the Summit , the outcome will bring capacity building and Inclusive growth as well as develop a roadmap for Sustainable economic development which can’t be achieved in an atmosphere of unnecessary conflicts, disputes and avoidable turmoil.
