Jigawa state executive council has approved Consultancy and Management Services for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme across key institutions in Jigawa State.

The State Commissioner of Information, Youths, Sports and Culture, Alhaji Sagir Musa Ahmed stated this to Newsmen shortly after the executive council meeting Chaired by Governor Umar Namadi at Government House Dutse.

He explained that, as part of the strategic drive to reposition education and equip youths with relevant 21st-century skills, the council approved the engagement of consultancy and management services for the implementation of the technical and vocational education and training programme across selected institutions in the state.

He said the approved programme will be implemented at a total cost of over 835 million naira.

According to him, the programme will cover 4 centers of excellence in Dutse Model, Santami Senior Secondary School Kafin Hausa and Bamaina Academy in Birnin Kudu.

Sagir said, the programme will cover 6 government science and technical colleges, 7 skills acquisition centres located in Hadejia, Kazaure, Ringim, Gumel, Babura, Birnin Kudu and Dutse local government areas.

Others include four tertiary educational institutions, Bilyaminu Usman Polytechnic Hadejia, Polytechnic for Information and Communication Technology Kazaure, State Polytechnic Dutse and JICORAs Babura.

He said, this initiative reflects the commitment of Governor Namadi to revitalize the education sector through practical, skill-based learning that meets both local industry needs and global standards.

He said the consultancy and management services will ensure quality assurance, efficient project delivery, and alignment with international best practices in technical and vocational education.
