A Voice That Become a Legacy: A Tribute to a Radio Veteran, Malam Habibu Tabari.

By Bilal Ahmad Maiwada, Kaduna

As the Mic fades to silence and the “On Air” light dims one final time, we gather our thoughts and our gratitude for a voice that became a trusted companion, a guide through decades of change, and a constant presence in the famous Radio Nigeria Kaduna, Farin Gida Kafin Sardauna.

My Mentor, your career has not just been long, it has been legendary.

For 35 years, you’ve done more than deliver programs (Jakar Magori, Kimiya da Fasaha a Musulunci, Muhalli Sutura) to mention but a few. You have told stories. You’ve asked the questions that mattered.

Radio is an intimate medium, and you understood that better than most. You never spoke at us but you spoke with us. Whether from the studio booth or out in the field, you brought the world a little closer and remind us, day after day, of the power of words, sounds and presence.

Colleagues admired your dedication. Listeners felt like they knew you. And newcomers to the craft found in you a model of excellence, humility, and professionalism. In a world that constantly chased the new thing, you remained steadfast, principled, and unmistakably Habibu Tabari.

Now, as you sign off from this chapter, know that your voice echoes far beyond the airwaves. It lives on in the memories of those you’ve informed, inspired, and educated. And while we’ll miss hearing you on the dial, your legacy will remain not just in archives, but in hearts.

Thank you, Habibu Tabari for your years of service, your gift of Radio Production, and the indelible mark you’ve left on the air and on all of us.

It’s hard to say goodbye, but when circumstances warrant, you are left with no option than to say it. Wishing you a retirement filled with peace, joy, and everything you gave so generously to others. Allah Ya saka da alkhairi Ya yiwa rayuwa albarka.

With deepest respect,
Bilal Ahmad Maiwada.
