Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has flagged off the construction of access roads and drainage project at Badariya, behind Mopol Barrack area in the ancient city of Birnin Kebbi the state capital.

Kick-starting the project, the governor said it was meant to provide access roads as part of democratic dividends to the people at the grassroots level.

Nasir Idris explained that his administration was  determined to continue to bring meaningful developmental projects to the people in order to foster unity among the people and also transform the living condition of residents.

Governor Idris added that, the construction of road network in the state capital alongside other local government areas were meant to give all manner of people a sense of belonging.

He assured that, more of such projects were on the way with a view to ensuring even development across the state.

In his remarks, the Commissioner for Works Hon. Abdullahi Umar Faruk Muslim thanked the governor for supporting the ministry to achieve what he described as milestone achievements.

According to him, the project includes the construction of four access roads around the Abdullahi Fodio Juma’at Mosque, with a dual drainage system and a reinforced concrete outfall, at a cost of ₦2,174,633,033.21.

The Commissioner noted that the completion period is 12 months from today and that the project has been awarded to a qualified indigenous contractor, B-Tech Global Investment and Services Ltd.
