Nigeria Police Force has reassured the Jigawa State chapter of Local Hunters, known as Yan Bulala, of its readiness to organise capacity-building training for their members.

State Commissioner of Police, Dahiru Muhammad, gave the assurance during a town hall meeting with the group, chaired by Lamido Wada, in Dutse, the state capital.

He said the Command would partner with the association to strengthen security operations and promised to formally communicate their mobility challenges to the appropriate authorities for action.

According to him, the command has continued to deepen community driven policing initiatives by fostering stronger collaboration with critical stakeholders committed to peace and security across the state.

Dahiru Muhammad expressed delight at their large membership strength, organization, and leadership structure.

During the engagement, the visitors pledged their continued commitment to safeguarding forests and ensuring security across the state.

They further presented key requests to the Commissioner of Police, which include facilitating communication of their activities to the higher authority, sister security agencies, and other critical stakeholders through the CP as their bridge of contact.

Organizing professional training for members to enhance their operational capacity and ensure they operate strictly within the ambit of the law.

Other request include provision of mobility support, such as motorcycles, to ease their field operations.

The meeting brought together three representatives which include Chairman, Commander, and Secretary from each of the 27 local government areas across the State.

The delegation were also accompanied by Salisu Garba Kubayo, the Senior Special Assistant on the Farmers/Herders Board to Governor Umar Namadi.

Radio Nigeria reports that, the state Chapter of the Igbo Community Association, led by Chief Christopher Agbo also paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police.

The association expressed their commitment to supporting the police in sustaining peace, ensuring the security of lives and property, and promoting a conducive atmosphere for business and social harmony across the state.
