President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo will receive the Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine publicly on Saturday.

Executive Director, National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), Dr. Faisal Shuaib, disclosed this at a media briefing at the State House on Thursday.

Dr. Faisal Shuaib said they would be inoculated after health workers from the National Hospital Abuja are vaccinated on Friday, at the launch of the exercise.

The NPHCDA Boss noted that members of the Federal Executive Council will be vaccinated on Monday while Secretary to Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, will be vaccinated on Saturday to increase confidence in the vaccines and overcome vaccine hesitancy.

Nigeria received its first batch of over 3.9million vaccine on Tuesday, as the virus has killed 1,940 citizens.
