Members of the National Assembly have been advised to discharge their constitutional duties with a sense of patriotism in order to justify the mandate of the electorate and move the nation forward.

A Public Affairs Analyst in Bauchi, Alhaji Rabi’a Usman, gave the advice in an interview in Kaduna.

Alhaji Rabi’u Usman was concerned over alleged manipulation of the legislators by the executive arm of government described as unfortunate.

He stressed the need for the nation’s lawmakers to scrutinise bills presented by the presidency to ensure effective socio-economic development while calling for the restoration of the fuel subsidy to stabilise the local currency.

Alhaji Rabi’u Usman also suggested proactive measures against insecurity corruption which had affected democratic governance and solicited public support to achieve desired objectives.
