President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered the recall of Mr. Salihu Abdulhamid Dembos as Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), reversing recent management changes at the agency.

This was contained in a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga,

Dembos, who was appointed in October 2023, is to return and complete his three-year tenure. Similarly, the President approved the reinstatement of Mr. Ayo Adewuyi as Executive Director of News, to serve out his tenure until 2027. Adewuyi was first appointed in 2024.

The Directive effectively cancels earlier appointments of a new director-general, executive director of news, executive director of marketing, and managing director of NTA Enterprises.

According to him, “President Tinubu has directed that Mr. Salihu Dembos and Mr. Ayo Adewuyi should return to their positions at NTA to complete their statutory three-year tenures. The new directive sets aside previously announced appointments into those offices.”
