The Air Component of Operation FANSAN YAMMA has neutralised several terrorists in a co-ordinated air and ground assault on Makakkari forest in Zamfara State.
A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information of the NAF, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame says intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance had confirmed movements of over four hundred bandits, planning to invade a farming community.
The statement explains that the operation involved precision airstrikes and ground assaults, resulting in the deaths of several notorious kingpins and scores of their foot soldiers.
According to the statement, the synergy between air and land components made the operation exceptional.
