Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Abbas Tajuddeen, has admonished Nigerian Muslims to imbibe the spirit of personal and collective sacrifice as one of the key hallmarks of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Malam Musa Abdullahi Krishi, Speaker Abbas noted that this period calls for renewed commitment to the worship of Allah (SWT), emphasizing that with unity of purpose, Nigerians can prosper.

The Speaker, who is currently performing this year’s Hajj, also urged Nigerian Muslims to pray for the country, particularly for its leaders, to enable them to successfully discharge their constitutional responsibilities.

“Through prayers, selfishness, dedication, and renewed hope, we shall overcome our challenges as a nation,” the Speaker said

Dr Abbas Tajuddeen, therefore, urged Nigerians to see the current socio-economic situation as a temporary sacrifice towards a prosperous country under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

In another development, the Deputy Speaker Mr Benjamin Kalu, has donated food items to some Muslim communities in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State as part of the spirit of Eid-el-Kabir celebration,

Presenting the items to the Emir of Bende Alh Sarki Shehu Bello, on behalf of the benefiting communities, the Deputy Speaker urged them to use the occasion to spread love to the indigent people and put a smile on their faces.

Mr Benjamin Kalu, who promised never to relent in championing the cause and welfare of his people by spreading the dividends of democracy appealed to the Muslim faithful and indeed, all Nigerians to continue to pray and support the government to serve them better.

In his response, leader of Abia Muslim Communities Alh Shehu Bello thanked the Deputy Speaker for his benevolence, and ensuring that Muslims residing in Abia state celebrate Sallah in harmony in happiness and joy.

In a statement by the Special Assistant Press Affairs to the Deputy Speaker Udora Orizu, said items donated includes Rams, bags of Rice and other relevant food items.
