Jigawa State Taskforce on Petroleum Monitoring, Sale, and Distribution has issued a stern warning to fuel stations across the state to desist from manipulating their fuel dispensers to shortchange unsuspecting customers.

The Chairman of the Taskforce, Retired Colonel Muhammad Alhassan, issued the warning during an inspection tour of filling stations in parts of the state.

He cautioned that any station found engaging in such malpractice will have its identity publicly disclosed and face immediate sanctions, including closure.

Col. Alhassan expressed concern over reports that some fuel stations deliberately under-dispense petrol by adjusting their meters.

He emphasized that the Taskforce will not tolerate such exploitation of the public.

However, the Chairman commended filling stations in Ringim, Hadejia, and Dutse for their compliance in selling fuel with accurate liter calibrations.

He reiterated the Taskforce’s commitment to routine inspections aimed at ensuring transparency and fairness in the distribution and sale of petroleum products across the state.

Col. Alhassan also warned that stations found hoarding petrol will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
