Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Jigawa State Council, has announced the formal appointment of all its past Chairmen as members of a newly constituted Advisory Committee.
The decision takes immediate effect and reflects the Council’s commitment to fostering continuity and leveraging experience for institutional growth.
According to a statement by the Council Secretary, Comrade Aisha Abba Ahmed, the initiative aims to reinforce leadership within the Union and provide mentorship to the current executive officers and broader membership.
The Advisory Committee is expected to offer strategic counsel and support efforts to promote professionalism and ethical journalism.

The appointees, recognized for their past service and dedication, include Comrades Sabo Abdullahi Guri, Mati Ali, Fahad Muhammed Mallam Madori, Ali Safiyanu, Sanusi Hussaini Madobi, and Garba Muhammed Bulangu.
Their wealth of knowledge is anticipated to significantly contribute to policy development and union advancement.
“The NUJ Jigawa State Council reaffirmed its commitment to uniting members under a shared vision of journalistic excellence, while ensuring that institutional memory is preserved and actively engaged in shaping future directions”, the statement adds.
