A former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Alhaji Umaru Dembo, has called for a seminar on effective governance as a means to move the nation forward.

Alhaji Umaru Dembo who stated this in an interview in Kaduna was dismayed over reports that excess crude oil revenue had not been saved by the present administration since assuming office.

The former Minister noted that the seminar was necessary to acquaint leaders at all levels with rudiments of governance which should include honesty, transparency and accountability to facilitate socio-economic development and justify democracy.

Alhaji Umaru Dembo stressed the need for the anti-corruption agencies to investigate alleged corruption in public offices for prosecution devoid of sentiments.
