The Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, says it has completed all arrangements for the this year’s Hajj exercise in the Holy Land.

The state 2025 Amirul Hajj and Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Samaila Muhammad Mera, who made this known while speaking with newsmen during the maiden inaugural meeting at the agency’s headquarters in Birnin Kebbi, also pledged to ensure adequate welfare of Kebbi pilgrims while in the holy land.

The Amirul Hajj said, a total of 3,800 intending pilgrims from the state have fully paid their fares for this year’s hajj exercise and the airlift of the state Pilgrims would commenced on the 9th of May, after which subsequent airlift would follow progressively without break until conclusion.

He stated that, Pilgrims would receive their Basic Travel Allowance, BTA, in cash (Saudi Riyal) under present system beginning this Hajj with the objective of curtailing sharp practices and shortchanging of pilgrims in the course of currency exchange here and in Saudi Arabia.

Alhaji Muhammadu Mera, advised members of the government delegation and officials of the Pilgrims Welfare Agency to work with the fear of Allah, to protect the rights and privileges of the pilgrims in consonance with the objective of Governor Nasir Idris for the conduct of the best Hajj operation.

The Executive Chairman of the Agency, Alhaji Faruk Musa Yaro, pledged absolute cooperation with the government’s delegation to ensure the most successful Hajj exercise unprecedented in the state.

The Chairman, said that accommodation and other necessities including transport and feeding have been secured in the Holy Land as well the airline of last year, ‘Flynas’, is similarly engaged for the airlift operation of Kebbi pilgrims this Hajj”,

Similarly, vaccination was administered on the Amirul Hajj and other members of the government delegation by medical personnel to signal the commencement of the vaccination exercise for other pilgrims.
