Over one million animals are expected to be vaccinated across Babura Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
The Chairman of Babura Local Government Council, Alhaji Hamisu Muhammad Garu, made this known during the flag-off of this year’s animal vaccination exercise in Babura.
According to him, over one million sheep, goats and twenty thousand cattles are expected to be vaccinated across the local government area.
He reiterated the council’s readiness and commitment to support Governor Umar Namadi’s agricultural revolution aimed at improving the economic wellbeing of the people of the state.
The Chairman emphasized the importance of livestock owners participating fully in the exercise to ensure the good health of their animals.
Alhaji Hamisu Garu also expressed satisfaction with the peaceful coexistence between farmers and herders in the area, urging them to maintain the spirit of harmony.
Also speaking at the event, the Head of the Agriculture and Natural Resources Department, Malam Lawan Sabo Kaugama, disclosed that twelve centers have been designated for the vaccination exercise, which is expected to last for four days.
He commended the state and local government for providing the vaccines and adequate logistical support.
