Retired workers of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria FRCN and the Nigerian Television Authority NTA Kaduna have expressed support for the moves by the FRCN Pensioners’ Association to protest the non-payment of accumulated arrears promised by the Federal Government.

The retirees expressed dismay over reports that the Executive Secretary of the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate PTAD, Ms. Tolulope Odunaiya, had denied receiving funds for the payment of arrears during a meeting in Abuja.

They emphasized the need for the FRCN Pensioners’ Association to ensure effective mobilization for the protest, suggesting that it should involve the Nigerian Union of Pensioners and organized labour to achieve greater impact.

One of the retirees, Alhaji Muntari Muhammad Katsina reminded the National Assembly of the promise to investigate funding for the Covid-19 palliatives and fuel subsidy removal expected to cushion effect of the policies.
