The Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate PTAD has released one out of the nine months’ minimum pension arrears owed to retirees from Ministries and Parastatals.

Some pensioners from the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria FRCN who received payment alerts expressed disappointment over underpayment of their accumulated benefits, despite earlier assurances following the Presidential directive.

They stressed the need for credible information on issues affecting welfare of the senior citizens to avoid unnecessary speculations and allegation against PTAD officials.

President of the FRCN Pensioners Association Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmad Jikamshi in his reaction said the source at the directorate confirmed that only funds for one month arrears had been provided by the Federal Government.

Alhaji Ibrahim Jikamshi suggested continued prayers for divine intervention on the challenge faced by pensioners while other retirees blamed corruption for their plight and vowed to do everything possible for their rights delayed for ulterior motives.
