Nigeria’s Assistant Comptroller of Customs, Dr. Sanusi Tasiu Saulawa, has been featured as one of the distinguished speakers at the 2025 World Border Security Week in Madrid, Spain.
The high-level event, which took place last month brought together top global experts, security professionals, and border management officials under the theme: “Developing Border Strategies Through Cooperation and Technology.”
A statement revealed that the event centered on enhancing global border security by leveraging collaboration, innovation, and technological advancement.

It highlighted that discussions tackled emerging challenges across air, land, and sea borders, presenting solutions guided by both policy frameworks and practical experience.
Dr. Saulawa participated alongside esteemed delegates from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, the US Customs and Border Protection, the European Border and Coast Guard Agency, and various other international bodies.
The statement also noted that, in his role as a keynote contributor, Dr. Saulawa presented strategic insights and practical approaches to modern border management, reaffirming Nigeria’s commitment to global security advancement.

It emphasized that his presence not only reflected Nigeria’s growing influence in international security forums but also reinforced the need for global collaboration in tackling common border-related challenges.
