Federal Government has been urged to take decisive action against agencies found wanting in the discharge of their responsibilities to meet public expectations.

A retired Police Commissioner, Alhaji Abubakar Mairamri, made the appeal during a telephone interview in Abuja.

Alhaji Mairamri expressed dismay over the delayed payment of monthly pensions to some retired workers without any justification.

He recalled his recent visit to the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) to lodge a complaint regarding the non-payment of his pension for the previous month.

He attributed the issue to lapses in the calculation of benefits by the Directorate.

Describing the situation as unfortunate, Alhaji Mairamri noted that retirees could not access the Directorate’s email or website for updates on its activities an indication, he said, of the officials’ incompetence, despite the engagement of consultants.
