The Kanwan Katsina District Head of Ketare, Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara has commended the Katsina State Government for hosting ten ambassadors from different countries during this year’s Eid celebrations.

In a statement, he noted that such diplomatic engagements would not not only showcase the state’s rich cultural heritage but also open doors for investment and international partnerships.

Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara also commended the government for
its commitment in reviving the century-old tradition of the Sallah Durbar in Katsina State.

“Katsina State Government deserves commendation for its commitment to reviving the century-old tradition of the Sallah Durbar in Katsina State”. He said.

According to him, the renovation of the spectators’ stands at the Katsina and Daura Emir’s Palaces, as well as the old Government House, has greatly enhanced viewing comfort for guests during the Sallah procession.

The Kanwan Katsina was among the District Heads and traditional titleholders who joined, the Emir of Katsina, Dr. Abdulmumini Kabir Usman in celebrating this year’s Sallah Durbar in Katsina metropolis.

The first day of the Durbar took place on sallah day with Muslim faithful across the state participating in the festivities with their families and relatives.

The second day featured the traditional Sallah homage to the Government House, led by the Emir of Katsina and accompanied by District Heads and titleholders, who paid their respects to the Governor, Malam Dikko Umar Radda at the old government house katsina.

The Durbar was marked by a colorful display of traditional regalia, beautifully adorned horses, and large crowds of spectators. Among the dignitaries present was the Bulgarian Ambassador to Nigeria, Yanko Yordanov, along with nine other ambassadors and their families, hosted by the Katsina State Government for the historic celebration.

The Kanwan Katsina contingent during the sallah durbar include all Village Heads in Ketare District, along with members of the Ketare District Council and his close relations.

This year marks the 25th Sallah Durbar celebration for the Kanwan Katsina since his turbaning in the year 2000 by the late Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Dr. Muhammadu Kabir Usman.
