The Management of the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate PTAD has apologized for the delayed payment of part of the accumulated arrears to retired workers across the country.

In a telephone conference with the Chairman of the Lagos Chapter of the NIPOST Pensioners Association, Comrade Mukaila Ogunbote, PTAD officials attributed the delay to challenges from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Ministry of Finance.

However, they assured that the outstanding benefits, including those for pensioners who had been re-enrolled after completing their “I Am Alive” screening, would be settled this month.

Comrade Mukaila Ogunbote explained that several issues affecting the welfare of pensioners were discussed during the meeting and pledged to ensure consistent follow-up until all outstanding challenges are resolved.

He solicited the necessary cooperation, understanding, and patience to allow for an amicable resolution, as recently directed by President Bola Tinubu, who approved the release of sixty-eight billion naira to settle the arrears.
