Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, has launched the distribution of 7,000 bags of rice to APC members in Zamfara State.
While handing over the commodity to party executives in Gusau, the state capital, the minister revealed that the food items were a personal donation from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Dr. Bello Matawalle, who was represented at the event by the Zamfara State APC Chairman, Alhaji Tukur Umar Danfulani, urged party members to continue praying for the restoration of peace in the state.
He emphasized that the federal government is taking all necessary steps to tackle banditry and other criminal activities in Zamfara and the Northwest region.
Matawalle said the gesture was to appreciate the efforts of the APC leadership in the state for their hard work, dedication, and loyalty, which is making the party stronger and more united.

The Minister called for continued understanding and tolerance among the party members at all levels for the purpose of having one party with one voice in the state, assuring that as leaders they will continue to support the party in whatever form to succeed.
He explained that the 7000 bags of rice are to be distributed free to all target beneficiaries from state executives, local government to ward level for them celebrate the forthcoming Eid celebrations with ease
Receiving the gesture on behalf of the party members, the state secretary of the party, Ibrahim Umar Dangaladima thanked the minister for the free distribution of the commodity.
Dangaladima, who said the free rice came at the right time when people are battling with conflicting daily needs, assured that all targeted persons will receive their share as expected.
In a statement, the APC Publicity Secretary in Zamfara State, Yusuf Idris Gusau, explained that Zamfara APC members are known for their patience, law-abiding nature, and dedication to the party’s growth.
He added that this commitment has continued to make the party attractive, leading to an increasing number of new members joining in the state.
