The Zamfara State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has distanced itself from a recent political gathering in Talatar Mafara, clarifying that it had no involvement in the event.

In a statement released by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Halliru Andi, explains that, PDP officials were in Mafara for two specific reasons to express sympathy to the Mafara Emirate over a recent fire incident and an attack in Jangebe town, and to present appointment letters to newly appointed party executives in a closed-door meeting.

The party emphasized that the gathering in question was not organized or endorsed by the PDP.

It reaffirmed its commitment to respecting the political gathering ban imposed by the Zamfara State Government, pledging full adherence to the directive until further notice.

As part of its compliance, the PDP announced the suspension of its planned launch of zonal offices across the state’s three senatorial districts.

The party also urged its members and other political groups to respect the government’s directive and refrain from organizing political gatherings during this period.
