Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has remitted over N4.5 billion in Hajj fares for some of the 2025 prospective pilgrims to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

The Director General of the board, Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo, disclosed this to journalists in Dutse, the state capital.

He explained that the board had successfully transferred N4.52 billion to NAHCON and anticipates further remittances before the deadline set by the commission.

According to him, NAHCON allocated 1,809 Hajj slots to Jigawa State for the 2025 pilgrimage.

He added that the board had already distributed 40% of the allocation to local government areas for intending pilgrims.

Labbo, therefore, urged intending pilgrims from the state to complete their Hajj payments immediately before the NAHCON deadline, warning that late payments could lead to exclusion from the 2025 Hajj exercise.

He further explained that, the board will soon commence orientation sessions across designated centres by some Ulama’s for the state intending pilgrims.

While commenting on accommodation, the Director General said the board had secured world-class accommodations near the Holy Mosque in Makkah to ensure that state pilgrims can perform their rituals with ease during the forthcoming Hajj.

He, therefore, urged intending pilgrims from the state to continue cooperating with the board to achieve the desired objectives.

Radio Nigeria reports that, the board earlier announced over 8.4 million as the 2025 Hajj fare for the intending pilgrims from the state.

The Pilgrims Boss appreciated the support and existing cordial working relationship between the management of the board and the coordinators, while praying for a sustainable partnership in the interest of all and development of the state.
