The Executive Secretary, Zamfara State Fire Service Board, Bello Sani has urged residents to report any incidence of fire outbreaks immediately to ensure prompt action.
He made call while speaking with our correspondent in Gusau in an telephone interview in response to devastating incident of fire outbreak that claimed the lives of 17 Almajiris at Malam Ghali Tsanya School in Kauran Namoda Local Government Area of the state.
Bello Sani said, the importance of swift reporting of such incident cannot be over emphasized to quench it on time.
He confirmed that, the incident occurred in the middle of night, stressing that, what’s even more concerned was that, the fire service was not contacted, neither at their office in Kauran Namoda nor at the Gusau head office.
Bello Sani who attributed late alertness of the service as the reason for high causalities pointed out that, immediate call to action is crucial in preventing similar tragedies from occurring and minimizing damage to property and lives.
The Executive Secretary added that, investigation has already commenced to examine the root causes of the incident with a view to prevent future occurrence.
