President Bola Tinubu has sworn in eight newly appointed Federal Permanent Secretaries and 18 Federal Commissioners of the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation, and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).
The ceremony took place at the State House in Abuja, just before the commencement of the first Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting of the year.
The brief swearing-in was conducted in a single batch and anchored by the Director of Media in the Presidential Office, Biodun Oladunjoye.
Newly Sworn-in Permanent Secretaries
The new Permanent Secretaries, who will be responsible for overseeing various federal ministries, include:
Onwusoro Ihemelandu (Abia State)
Ndiomu Philip (Bayelsa State)
Anuma Nlia (Ebonyi State)
Ogbodo Nnam (Enugu State)
Kalba Usman (Gombe State)
Usman Aminu (Kebbi State)
Oyekunle Nwakuso (Rivers State)
Nadungu Gagare (Kaduna State)
Appointments to Federal Commissions
In addition to the Permanent Secretaries, President Tinubu also swore in:
18 Federal Commissioners for RMAFC
A member of the Federal Character Commission (FCC)
A Commissioner for the National Population Commission (NPC)
Among them, former Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Financial Crimes, Hon. Kayode Oladele, was sworn in as a member of the Federal Character Commission representing Ogun State. Also, Mrs. Olukemi Victoria Iyantan (Ondo State) took the oath of office as a Commissioner of the National Population Commission.

Speaking on the appointments, Senator Abdullahi Yahaya, Chairman of the Senate Committee on National Planning and Economic Affairs, confirmed that all nominees had been thoroughly screened and met the required qualifications. He emphasized that the appointments would ensure equitable representation across Nigeria’s geo-political zones.
Tribute to Late FCT Minister
During the FEC meeting, members observed a minute of silence in honor of former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Jeremiah Useni, who passed away on January 23, 2025.
