The Senator representing Yobe North Senatorial Zone, Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan, and the Director General of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Dr. Mohammed Bulama have commissioned a new radio station in Gashua, Yobe State.
Dr. Bulama stated that the station, the seventh in the Northeast and second in Yobe, will greatly benefit the government and people of the state.
Reaffirming FRCN’s commitment to expanding its services, Dr Bulama announced a new contract for an FM station in Gwoza, Borno State, to further improve service delivery in the region.
He acknowledged former Senate President, Senator Lawan, for facilitating the construction of Wetland FM Gashua, and commended the contractors for the quality of the station’s equipment.
Expressing his gratitude to FRCN management for their presence at the commissioning, Senator Lawan announced plans to build a transit camp for workers and install solar power to ensure effective operations.
He urged FRCN to ensure Wetland FM reaches all parts of the state and called upon the community to support the station’s success.
The event, held at the station’s premises, was attended by FRCN directors and general managers from the Northeast, politicians, traditional and religious leaders, and members of the press.
