Jigawa state executive council has approved the release of three billion naira for the execution of various projects in the health sector.

The Commissioner of Information, Youth, Sports and Culture Alhaji Sagir Musa Ahmed disclosed this to newsmen in Dutse.

Alhaji Sagir Ahmed explained that the projects include the construction of midwives quarters, wall fencing of general hospitals and the provision of solar powered electricity in thirty primary health care centers.

He further explained that the council also resolved to release three point five billion naira for the implementation of national Covid-19 action recovery and economic stimulus under the Fadama four and five programs.

The Commissioner maintained that over three thousand people will be supported under the programme.

He said, the council also approved the establishment of two committees for the take over of Khadija University Majia in Taura local government area by the state government.

He added  that the state Commissioner for higher education Dr. Isah Yusuf Chamo is heading technical committee, while his Basic Education counterpart, Dr. Lawan Yunsua Danzomo will chair the administration committee.
