Industrial Training Fund has trained one hundred youth on different skills acquisition under National Economic Recovery Growth programme in Kaduna state.
The Area Manager of the fund in Kaduna State, Engineer Garba Hassan stated this during the graduation ceremony held at the ITF office in Kaduna.
The National Economic Recovery and Growth Programme introduced by the Industrial Training Fund aimed at promoting economic growth and development among Nigerian youth.
The programme focuses on technical and vocational education and training entrepreneurship and enterprise development as well as apprenticeship in Nigeria.
The Area Manager Kaduna State office of the ITF, Engineer Garba Hassan explained that the programme would contribute to Nigeria’s economic recovery, growth, and sustainable development.
He said the graduants were trained on poultry, welding and fabrication, crop production, tiling, electrical installations.
The Kaduna Area Manager Engineer Garba Hassan announced that all of the graduants would go home with a start up packs and financial assistance as part of federal government’s efforts to support Nigerian youth.
“Those on poultry would received chicks, feeds, immunization and vitamins, those trained on welding would be given welding machine while on crop production would received water pump machines ” he said.
In his address, the Head of Training ITF Kaduna Area office, Mr. Daniel Jamgbade explained that the graduants were trained for three months and the fund promised to monitor their progress within six months.
Mr. Daniel Jamgbade warned them not to sale the start up packs given to them by the ITF, adding that they can use it positively to develop themselves, their community, state and the nation.
The representative of the Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Mr. Muhammad Usman advised Nigerians youth to partner ITF to acquire necessary skills acquisition in order to be relevant in the country and abroad.
He appealed to federal and state governments to continue to support ITF with adequate fund due to it’s significance and it’s role in the national development.
Speaking to Radio Nigeria Kaduna, one of the graduants, Mr. Monday Adamu said they were taught on crop farming, adding that with farming alone Nigeria can feed the whole African region.
Also in an interview, Rose Ibrahim Audu was trained on poultry she said that she learned how to take care of a day old chicks, their feeding, immunization and vitamins up to ten weeks.
