Students Union under the agies of Danmodi Students Care says it will enroll thirty thousand out of school children back to classrooms across the twenty seven local government area of Jigawa state.

Speaking at the distribution of uniforms and other learning materials to registered students, the Senior Special Adviser to Jigawa state Governor on students matters , Comrade Salisu Muhammad Seeker said their Union is concerned with the high rate of out of school children in the state.

He explained that after conducting a survey on out of school children in the state, they found many factors behind the problems, which include death of breadwinners and inability to sponsor children by widows.

“Base on that, our Union embarked on campaign to enroll 30,000 of such children back to class, some were dropout while have never been registered into any formal system of education”.

According to him, in each of the local governments the Union targets to support over one thousand children and also support their mothers to ensure punctuality and retention of the students.

He pointed out that, the union have also provided intervention to disabled students to study at School of Blind, Dutse.

Comrade Salisu Seeker said, they provided over one hundred and fifty bicycles to pupils that study at distance schools, secured and rented hostel for Jigawa students at Federal University Gashua in Yobe State and also facilitated the scholarship and emergency response to various students needs.

He therefore promised to continue supporting the state government policy designed to ensure every child get access to quality education irrespective of socio-economic status or geographical location.

In his speech at the occasion, Governor Umar Namadi commended the union efforts in supporting educational development in the state.

He therefore charged them to keep on monitoring the students they enrolled back to class.

Namadi also promised to provide them with all necessary support to enhance access to quality education from primary to tertiary for every child in the state.
