Twenty one persons have been killed and another forty kidnapped in a renewed bandits attack on Shiroro communities in Niger state.

Reports say hundreds of gunmen on motorcycles stormed four villages of Kurege Sabon gida Sararai and Rafin Kanya shooting sporadically.

An eye witness who doubled also as an indigine of Shiroro local government council, Malam Galadima Salisu expressed worry that the area might be taken over by bandits and pleaded to government at all levels to come to their aid.

All efforts to contact the Police Public Relations Officer Niger state Command, ASP Wasiu Abiodun for comment was not successful

However, Secretary to the Niger State Government Ahmed Ibrahim Matane confirmed the incident but denied knowledge of number of people killed.

Ahmed Ibrahim Matane maintained that Niger state government was fully committed to address the problem of insecurity bedeviling it’s people.
