Political Scientists in Nigeria have expressed worry over low level of national unity and cohesion among citizens.

The association also rued the high cost of living and the insecurity pervading the nation.

The body of political scientists has therefore decided to hold a conference in Lokoja, Kogi State to discuss and proffer solutions to the hydra-headed challenges confronting Nigeria.

The President of Nigerian Political Scientists Association-NPSA, Professor Hassan Saliu stated this in a statement made available to newsmen in Ilorin, Kwara State.

The statement says Nigeria is currently facing some challenges ranging from cost of living and Insecurity among others.

The statement explains that the level of national unity and cohesion is nervous, adding that there is a reduction in the level of influence that the country enjoys in inter-state relations.

The statement notes that as a response to the situation, the Nigerian Political Scientists are planning to intervene once again on Nigeria’s issues.

It adds that the speaker of the House of Representatives, Right Honorable Tajudeen Abass, will be the chairman at the occasion, while the Vice President, Senator Shettima Kassim will be the distinguished special guest of honour among other dignitaries.
