The Minister of State, Petroleum Resources Oil, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri and The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa

The Minister of State, Petroleum Resources, Oil, Senator Heineken Lokpobri says protecting the nation’s oil assets and investment remains instrumental to reaping the benefits of the sector.

Senator Lopkobri made this known when he received the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, in his office in Abuja.

He knowledge the professionalism of the military to support the oil and gas sector through provision of adequate security.

The Minister expressed Federal Government’s commitment to ensuring that the full benefits of the sector were used to improve the nation’s economy.

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa announced a planned security summit in the Niger-delta region, said the security of the country’s oil assets remained a priority to the military.

General Musa said the military was addressing vandalism, illegal bunkering and refining which has led to improvement in production.
